Views of Lake Tahoe from its north shore at twilight in August.  While the area is famous for its skiing during the winter, it is actually an amazing destination during the summer as well.  The scenery is gorgeous, the water is warm enough to swim in without a body suit (though still chilly), and the crowds are (relatively) scarce.  These photos are a fairly weak testament to the gorgeous mountain surroundings.  Definitely worth checking out as a weekend trip from the Bay area - or even to fly into Reno for a thirty-minute drive to the lake.
